L'EMT renova les màquines de recàrrega de la Targeta Ciutadana amb models que ofereixen més prestacions

EMT-Palma has completed the installation of 9 of the 11 new machines to recharge the Citizen Card. The new models include relevant features, such as the possibility of paying with a credit card, allowing charging both the electronic wallet and any of the monthly passes without having to have the exact cash amount, as it happened so far. Likewise, such new machines allow updating those citizen card profiles not requiring the submission of certificates, such as the ’Resident’ profile. Until now, such an update was only possible by going every three years to the EMT premises, to the City Council of Palma or to any of the establishments approved for recharge. The change will also have an effect on the speed and reliability of transactions, faster and more reliable. In addition the new structure and the software implemented are thought to reduce to the maximum their vulnerability to vandalism.

New locations

The new automatic machines are located close to the main stops in Avenidas, Plaza d’Espanya, Jaume III, Plaza del Mercat and Portopí, as well as at the EMT customer service head office. The terminals located next to the former hospital Son Dureta and to Sindicato street will be removed and the new ones will be located in Son Espases and Arenal, specifically at the final stop of line 15, where there is high demand and requests from users. Additionally, apart from these 11 machines, there are 200 establishments where users may charge the Citizen Card. The printout with all the establishments offering such an option, as well as their address and zip code to help you to locate them, may be found on the EMT web page, www.emtpalma.es.
